La médaillée de bronze aux Jeux olympiques de Pékin, Soraya Haddad, campe sur ses positions et refuse catégoriquement de travailler sous la houlette de Salima Souakri, nommée entraîneur de l'EN féminine par les nouveaux responsables de la Fédération algérienne de judo.
La petite Soraya exige un coach personnel pour réintégrer la sélection nationale et écarte définitivement l'éventualité de défendre les couleurs d'un autre pays que l'Algérie, elle qui a reçu des offres de nations européennes pour changer de nationalité.
Que devient Soraya Haddad ?
Je suis toujours à l'ISTS où je poursuis mes études. Je m'entraîne toute seule pour le moment. J'essaye de préserver au moins ma forme en attendant de trouver une solution à mon problème avec les responsables de la fédération et de réintégrer par la même la sélection nationale. Je ne vous cache pas que je suis malheureuse après tout ce qui s'est passé dans le judo ces derniers temps. Mon moral est à plat.
L'on a appris que vous aviez rencontré le président de la FAJ, Ali Benjemaâ, qu'en est-il au juste ?
Tout à fait. Le président de la FAJ m'a invitée jeudi et s'est montré très gentil. Je lui ai exposé mon problème et il a promis de trouver vite une solution. J'attends toujours du concret. Je lui ai demandé de mettre à ma disposition un entraîneur personnel, car tout le monde sait que je ne peux travailler avec Salima Souakri. Toute la famille du judo sait que nos relations ne sont pas au beau fixe.
La réconciliation est-elle impossible avec Souakri ?
Cette réconciliation est malheureusement impossible. J'ai attendu un signe de sa part après sa désignation comme entraîneur national, mais elle n'a jamais cherché après moi.
Tout est clair. On ne peut jamais travailler ensemble. Pour éviter les problèmes, il vaut mieux qu'on désigne un autre entraîneur pour moi.
Je veux bien continuer à travailler avec Hamid Chaâlal avec lequel j'ai réussi à obtenir la médaille olympique à Pékin. C'est un entraîneur compétent et je n'arrive toujours pas à comprendre pourquoi il a été écarté par la nouvelle direction de la FAJ.
On n'évince pas un entraîneur après un bon résultat aux JO. C'est incroyable. C'était en plus un résultat historique dans la mesure où c'est la première fois qu'on obtient une médaille olympique.
Si la FAJ accède à votre vœu, allez-vous prendre part aux prochains championnats d'Afrique ?
Non, je ne peux pas prendre part à cette compétition. J'accuse un grand retard dans la préparation. Je n'ai pas fait de judo ces derniers temps. Je me suis contentée d'exercices physiques. Il me faudra un programme spécial pour retrouver ma forme habituelle et toutes mes sensations.
L'on vous prête l'intention de rejoindre votre ancien entraîneur Mohamed Bouhaddou au Qatar…
Je démens formellement ces rumeurs sur ma personne. Je tiens à dire que je n'ai reçu aucune proposition du Qatar ni d'un autre pays du Golfe. J'ai eu des offres de certains pays européens que j'ai toutes déclinées. Je m'imagine mal défendre des couleurs autres que celles de mon pays. Je préfère arrêter ma carrière que d'opter pour un autre pays. Je ne quitterai jamais l'Algérie.
